Blight Assessment
One of the areas identified as a high priority for the Pontiac Collective Impact Partnership is reducing blight.
Before we jump in, we need to have a better understanding of current blight in the city. In order to develop a data-driven approach, we will be conducting a city-wide blight audit in which we visually assess every parcel in the city. Working in collaboration with Oakland Forward, you’ll see teams of canvassers out on city streets this Fall. The canvassers will take a photo of each parcel, and then enter data on the condition of the buildings and land.
Data will be used to guide a strategy for blight reduction in collaboration with the city of Pontiac and partnering organizations.
